Under the aegis and artistic coordination of the National Committee for the Celebrations of the Two Thousandth Anniversary of the Birth of Pliny the Elder, biennium 2023-2024, Fondazione Alessandro Volta (Como) is responsible for the implementation of the program of initiatives to celebrate the fellow citizen of Como. The volume recounts the exhibition, curated by Gianfranco Adornato (Scuola Normale Superiore di Pisa), which will be held from May 3 to August 31 at the Palazzo del Broletto in Como; the book also includes numerous scholarly contributions by emeritus scholars who intend to celebrate the extraordinary fortune of Pliny’s life and work through the centuries, as well as its relevance in contemporary society through its profound reflection on environmental protection and man’s relationship with nature.
