From Gio Ponti to Philippe Starck, from Ettore Sottsass to the Castiglioni brothers: this volume brings together all the greatest protagonists in the history of Design, creators of objects that have now become part of our daily lives. Introductory essays will tell about each designer, providing the main keys to interpret his work according to historiography, or current critical production, while a selection of autograph writings or an interview will explain his thought and poetics. In addition, an atlas of objects will illustrate some of the most famous objects through short cards, drawings and photographs. The intention is to offer an accurate popularization, intended for anyone interested in learning about design, whether student, professional or simply a connoisseur and enthusiast, offering basic information but also guidance for possible further study. An indispensable volume for following the creative path of the great masters of international Design, from the 1920s to the present.
