Street Art Revolution. Banksy e compagni: itinerari d’arte

Promoted by the Fortress of Bard in collaboration with 24 ORE Cultura and curated by Patrizia Cattaneo Moresi, the exhibition “Street Art Revolution. Banksy and companions: art itineraries.” chronicles Street Art as a revolutionary movement capable of crossing cultural, geographic and temporal boundaries, questioning social conventions and rules.

Set up in the Cannon Rooms of the Fortress of Bard, the exhibition is structured in six sections that trace the global rise of urban art, highlighting its stylistic and technical evolution, but also its ability to confront reality and cross political and social barriers.

Through more than 50 works , including a site specific by Edoardo Ettorre made directly on the exhibition walls, the exhibition takes the visitor along a journey from the origins of graffiti art and early pioneers such as Taki183 and Seen to the artists who have brought Street Art to international recognition, including Banksy, Obey and JR. Insights into the French, Italian and European scene complete the itinerary, further enriching the narrative with different styles, techniques and visions.

Each work bears witness to how art can become a space of encounter, exchange and transformation, where stories and experiences intertwine in a continuous flow of creativity. In this sense, the Fortress of Bard, which has always been a place of passage, becomes a crossroads of contemporary artistic languages: the path also extends to the external spaces of the fortress, with two site-specific installations signed by Raul and the Truly Design crew, and involves the territory of the Lower Valley. In the municipalities of Donnas, Pont-Saint-Martin and Perloz, new works by Damiano Mengozzi, Madame and Hitnes will take shape over the course of the exhibition, making the project a diffuse artistic experience in the making.
