The exhibition “Ferdinando Scianna. Known primarily for his social reportage, portraits and images charged with humanity, Scianna has also been able to apply his distinctive vision to fashion photography, creating iconic images that transcend the simple documentation of dress.

Scianna approaches fashion not as a separate universe of artifice and perfection, but as an extension of his research into life, beauty and storytelling. His shots, often in strict black and white, capture models (including the iconic Marpessa Hennink) in real, urban or natural settings, often with a touch of theatricality and a deep attention to the person behind the garment. The exhibition highlights his historic collaboration with designers such as Dolce & Gabbana, for whom he created memorable advertising campaigns that helped define the brand’s aesthetic and innovate fashion photography itself. Ferdinando Scianna (Bagheria, 1943) is one of the most important living photographers. At 21, he published “Feste Religiose in Sicilia” with texts by Leonardo Sciascia. In 1967 he moved to Milan, collaborating with “L’Europeo.” In 1982 he joined Magnum Photos, the first Italian to do so. Since 1987 he combines reportage with fashion and advertising photography, achieving international success.
