Il sogno di Natale

It is Christmas Eve. Little Stella, taking advantage of the adults’ distraction, explores her grandparents’ big house in the company of her stuffed bunny. Grandpa’s study is filled with beautiful paintings. Among them is an enchanting snowy landscape, with a little bird that seems to be inviting Stella to enter the painting with him… Thus begins a fantastic journey inside the most beautiful works of art dedicated to winter, Christmas and family. From Gentile da Fabriano’s gilded Nativity to Picasso’s blue-period Maternity, from Rembrandt’s Holy Family to Gauguin’s exotic Madonna and Child, Stella and her puppet thus relive the tale of Jesus’ birth through some of the most celebrated thematic masterpieces. Fully illustrated and enriched with photographs of the works, the volume contains a Christmas tale dedicated to art, to rediscover the values of Christmas through the eyes of great painters.
