The Style Book

With our style we can show off, send a message, express belonging to a group or, more simply, play with hues and fabrics to suit an occasion or our mood. Ultimately, the clothes we wear create meanings and tell a story. No style is born in a vacuum, but all are connected and united by a thread that links the past and the present.

The book reviews many different looks, traces their roots in history and culture, and shows how to combine them with each other. Organized into sections, individual entries provide synonyms and references to related styles, as well as hints on how to match them. Accompanied by archival photographs from the runways to the street, each entry also provides a directory of colors, fabrics, and details essential to each style.

Hannah Kane – She is a journalist, writer and editor-in-chief of the fashion and lifestyle magazine PHOENBIX, which she co-founded. She has lectured in numerous courses devoted to fashion and communication and is a lecturer at the London College of Fashion.
