The book tells the stories enacted in the most famous ballets, from the celebrated works of the great Russian composer Pyotr Il’i\u010d Tchaikovsky, such as The Nutcracker and Swan Lake, to those taken from traditional folk tales such as Sleeping Beauty. In addition to the narrative plot and its sources, the volume dwells on the librettos and the events surrounding the first performances, reconstructing the choreographies in brief and dwelling on the great performers, such as the legendary duo formed by Anna Pavlova and Vaslav Nijinsky, who made the Ballets Russes of the early 1900s a phenomenon capable of going far beyond the boundaries of dance, to invest the taste and customs of an entire civilization. The texts tell these stories in clear and accessible language and, together with the fundamental contribution of the illustrations, capable of evoking with the power of colors and images, that world of music, dance and gracefulness, allow young readers to take their first steps into a fairy-tale and fascinating world. <\/p>\n\n\n
