How has the concept of “home,” or the archetypal idea of physical and existential refuge<\/strong>, separated from public life, changed over time? Have the visions of architects of the past been reflected in the present? And what will the home of the future look like, even in light of the recent social upheaval caused by the Covid-19 epidemic? It will certainly be a connected, intelligent space, capable of interpreting our needs, increasing efficiency and saving water and energy, reducing costs and safeguarding the environment. <\/p>\n\n\n

There will be new ways of living together<\/strong> such as cohousing, and mobile homes founded on the concept of recycling and energy self-sufficiency. The book will open with a historical essay devoted to the evolution of living and the prefigurations of architects of the modern. This will be followed by a series of interviews with contemporary and international architectural firms: each will provide insights, sketches, and renderings, thus expressing their future vision of building and living in the years to come<\/strong>. <\/p>\n\n\n

BY<\/strong>Alessandra Coppa<\/strong> – Architect and publicist journalist, she teaches “History of Contemporary Architecture” at the Milan Polytechnic and “History and Documentation of Architectural Heritage” at the Brera Academy. She has curated two official Collateral Events at the Venice Biennale, as well as exhibitions at the Urban Center in Milan and the Milan Triennale.
